Best Ever Raw Apple Sauce

How many ways are there to make apple sauce?

Besides cooking it, I’ve made apple sauce with fresh raw apples in a juicer. It was good, but messy to clean up.

I’ve made it with fresh raw apples in a food processor. It was good too, and pretty easy to clean up.

But, it doesn’t get much easier than this.

Or better!

I discovered this while using up some peeled, cut, thawed raw apples, that didn’t fit in a pie. I keep some in the freezer for quick easy access.

I mashed them with a potato masher then I stuck the hand blender in and voila! I had the best apple sauce I’d ever tasted! It was so delicious and juicy. I mixed in a bit of cinnamon because I like the taste.

Blend it to your preferred texture.

Raw Year Round Apple Sauce

  • Frozen Apples
  • Cinnamon (opt)
  • Mash thawed apples and their juice by hand or make it nice and smooth with food processer or hand blender. That’s it!

Some things were just plain simpler in the beginning. Everything was eaten raw. Don’t believe me? Did you ever hear of Adam and Eve making apple pies?

Fresh raw food has nutrients and living enzymes that our living bodies need in order to stay healthy.

Plus, the best thing about eating fresh raw foods is we get to enjoy the deliciousness of the raw natural flavours. (tweet this)

Why would we want to waste our irreplaceable time destroying nutrition by cooking our foods?

We can’t have it any easier or healthier than fresh and raw.

Psalm 104:14 tells us what God grew for us to eat:

The tender grass grows up at his command to feed the cattle,
and there are fruit trees, vegetables, and grain for man to cultivate, TLB

Enjoy!

So…until next time…

Tip #13 Remember, the best garden is God’s.

My 15 year food journey has caused my taste buds to come alive and to anticipate new foods. I have lost weight, corrected health issues, and I’ve learned how important diet really is. Reading everything I could get my hands on truly opened my eyes to the evils of the food industry and how it is making us overweight and sick. I am in my 50’s and I am healthy, I take no medication, and I look more than 10 years younger than I am (so everyone says). The healthier we are now, the healthier we’ll be in our later years.

I came to be vegan one step at a time by gradually eliminating foods. Starting with; sea food, then meat, foul and fish, then eggs and dairy, all the while cutting out most processed foods, and totally eliminating pop. Then I went mostly raw, learned about juicing and smoothies, cut out most sugars, and I am now gluten free.

What’s left you ask? Mmmm….. I saved the best for last: lots and lots of vegetables with sides of legumes and grains, nuts and seeds, and fruit. I never go hungry.
There are many people living healthy vegan lifestyles today and they have created ways of making healthy alternatives for just about any food you could want.

Have fun!

  1. Thanks for the great idea, Kim! I’m going to buy some apples tomorrow and give it a try. I often add apples when I juice and I mix the left-over pulp (veggies and fruit together) into spelt or kamut flour with quinoa and other ingredients (depending on what I have and what I am in the mood for) to make delicious muffins. For liquid I use some of the juice. I sweeten them with a little coconut palm sugar. They are tasty as well as healthy. I know, they are cooked, but I do use a lot of raw fruits in my smoothies which I eat almost every day. I am not vegan, but I don’t eat much meat – a little chicken once in awhile and organic salmon fillet about once a week.
