Faith in Christ is more than belief in Him
As a former personal trainer, I know that most people believe it’s important to eat healthy foods and exercise regularly.
However, some of these same people do not do so. They believe the facts to be true, but they haven’t committed to them.
They have belief but not faith.
Belief often refers to an intellectual acceptance of facts. However, faith has added trust and commitment.
Likewise, many people believe there was a man named Jesus who existed and performed miracles. But they don’t commit to making Him the Lord of their lives.
Faith is more than belief. A person needs to commit themselves to God to have faith in Him.
James says it this way,
You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that — and shudder. You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? (James 2:19–20 NIV)
Whether we want to improve our physical health or our spiritual health, we need to put our beliefs (what we take to be true) into practice.
