Christmas Holiday Eating by Deb Powell
Yes! You can enjoy eating this Christmas, stay vegan, and not gain weight!
In the early years as a vegetarian, I was very successfully losing my unwanted weight and then it came to – you guessed it…Christmas. Oh great I thought, here comes the weight back! Oh God, I prayed, please help me! God said, instead of denying yourself, because you know that would totally make you want to eat everything you see lol!, He said eat anything you want, just eat very small portions. So I allowed myself to eat whatever I wanted, and I never felt guilty, too full, or tired. In fact I felt energized.
A couple days after New Year’s, I got on the scales, I had lost 7 pounds! I couldn’t believe it! Praise God!!!
There is alternate vegan and gluten-free recipes for anything you want on the Internet. I have made dressing, pumpkin pie, cookies, nuts and bolts, and even gravy. Look around and you’ll find your favourite or try my Christmas Fudge Brownies.
Christmas Fudge Brownies
Raw Vegan & Gluten-Free
In a bowl mix with a knife or spoon:
½ cup natural smooth peanut butter
3 teaspoons water
¼ cup cocoa
¼ cup brown sugar or maple syrup
¼ cup raisins
Then add:
½ cup ground flax seed
½ cup ground walnuts
This should form a ball.
Press in a 6×6 dish, sprinkle with ½ cup ground coconut, press in cranberries to decorate and chill.
So be stress-free over the holidays and let the spirit lead you so you can have fun and enjoy all the festivities with family and friends.
Scripture says:
Matthew 6:25 “Therefore, I tell you, do NOT worry about your life, what you will eat or drink…” NIV
Luke 2: 11 “Today, in the town of David, a SAVIOUR is born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” NIV
Tip # 4: Don’t forget the Reason for the season!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
Great idea,
I think I will try that.
Blessings,
